Passwords: FTP, HTTP access to Web Mail, POP3, and IMAP are all insecure protocols, and may traverse networks that TEI does not manage. If the credentials for these services is sensitive customers must obtain a custom solution.
E-mail Content: E-mail is not secure. It is the responsibility of users to encrypt sensitive material.
Internet Activity: TEI may log packet flows for diagnostic purposes, but these records are kept private, and are not kept for more than 30 days. Unless government authorities request specific information the payload of data transmissions from customer's PCs is not monitored.
Customer Records: TEI does not share account information with any outside organization except that which is required for processing payments.
Dialup Access: There are no bandwidth or time limits imposed. Multiple logins within the same household is permitted, but concurrent access from multiple locations requires multiple accounts.
Filtering: TEI does not block IP ports or protocols and therefore does not provide protection from network attacks. The customer must take reasonable security measures to protect their computers.
Objectionable Content: TEI does not provide web or e-mail filtering. Users may install filtering software on their own computers, but it is not supported.
Home Pages: TEI reserves the right to prohibit any material that they view as detrimental to their reputation, and will remove any material that is illegal.
Payment: Accounts that are 10 days or more overdue will be terminated. Once an account is terminated any data associated with that account may be deleted.
Support: Response to e-mail and voicemail requests for technical support is a best effort, and TEI does not guarantee a quick response. Any technical support outside the scope of Internet services is the sole discretion of the technical represntative.
Availability: Every effort is made to ensure that all systems are operating properly, but no service level is guaranteed. If it is critical that Internet service be available customers need to arrange service with multiple providers.
Telephone Charges: TEI is not liable for any long-distance charges incurred. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the numbers TEI provides for dialup are toll free.
Hosted Services: It is the customer's responsibility to back up their home folders or e-mail. TEI mirrors data nightly, but does not provide assurance against data loss or corruption.
Computer Software: No warranty is implied for software obtained through or recomended by TEI or any of it's partners. The end-user assumes all risks in the installation or removal of software.
Spamming: User's who use their e-mail account to spam will be suspended immediately.
Illegal Activities: Any violation of federal, state, or local laws is also a violation of this policy, and may be terminated if found to be in violation.
Impersonation: Using the identity of another person on TEI's system is prohibited. Spoofing E-mails is falsifying identity and will result in termination.
Copyrighted Material: TEI's corporate identity may be published on personal or commercial web sites provided the appearance of the logo and/or wording is not changed and a hyperlink to TEI's home page is provided.
